The programme consists of an adaptation course and basic Estonian language tuition (A1 level). The course is comprised of different modules – a basic module about the Estonian society, culture, state, rights and obligations, etc., and of complementary modules on work and entrepreneurship, research, studying, family. There’s also one aimed at children and young adults.

How long will it take?

The course will not take up a lot of time. The modules last for 5-8 hours each and everyone can choose which ones to attend.

Who can take part?

Any foreign national who has legally resided in Estonia for less than 5 years.

How to take part?

When issuing a residence permit or an ID card, the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board informs the newcomers about the opportunity to participate in the programme.

If your foreign employee’s residence permit was granted before 1 August 2015, and they have resided in Estonia for less than 5 years, they can directly turn to the Police and Border Guard Board office to apply.
